The focus of SIP during quarter 2 is two-fold. First, we will continue to work with our current members in reviewing grades, contacting parents, and making plans to improve academic achievement. Second, we will identify new candidates for the program and recommend to the student and parents that they enroll in SIP. This group will be made up mostly of Freshmen. The beginning of the quarter is a chance for a fresh start for many students and we strive to tap into that positive energy and get the students on the right track.
We have been working diligently over the past two weeks to identify those students we need to sit down with and new students we would like to recommend for the program. During this week, we will begin contacting those students, setting up parent meetings, making phone calls, and filing appropriate paperwork. We will have our first SIP session when the students have their first early dismissal day.
